The Trump campaign issued a scathing response Tuesday to Kamala Harris’s bizarre presser where she claimed that the former president “invoked Hitler,” arguing her “dangerous rhetoric” is responsible for the multiple assassination attempts against him.
“Kamala Harris is a stone-cold loser who is increasingly desperate because she is flailing, and her campaign is in shambles. That is why she continues to peddle outright lies and falsehoods that are easily disproven,” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement.

“The fact is that Kamala’s dangerous rhetoric is directly to blame for the multiple assassination attempts against President Trump and she continues to stoke the flames of violence all in the name of politics.”
“She is despicable and her grotesque behavior proves she is wholly unfit for office,” he added.
In a 3-minute press conference where she took no questions, Harris parroted a hit piece published by The Atlantic claiming former White House Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly alleged that Trump once told him he thought “Hitler did some good things” for Germany and that the former president is “the general definition of a fascist” and a wannabe dictator.
“It is deeply troubling and incredibly dangerous that Donald Trump would invoke Adolf Hitler, the man who is responsible for the deaths of six million Jews and hundreds of thousands of Americans,” Harris said.

Notably, these dubious claims by Kelly first circulated in 2022, which were refuted by other former Trump officials and witnesses.
The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg even went on to accuse Trump of disparaging a slain soldier Vanessa Guillén, whose sister Mayra came out blasting the story as false and saying she had just voted for Trump.
Wow.

I don’t appreciate how you are exploiting my sister’s death for politics- hurtful & disrespectful to the important changes she made for service members. President Donald Trump did nothing but show respect to my family & Vanessa. In fact, I voted for President Trump today. https://t.co/o8cDrKOKBV
Trump himself rebuked the Atlantic’s “made up” story and blasted “degenerate” Kelly in a Truth Social post, calling him a “LOWLIFE” and “a bad General.”
Thank you for your support against a total degenerate named John Kelly, who made up a story out of pure Trump Derangement Syndrome Hatred! This guy had two qualities, which don’t work well together. He was tough and dumb. The problem is his toughness morphed into weakness, because he became JELLO with time! The story about the Soldiers was A LIE, as are numerous other stories he told. Even though I shouldn’t be wasting my time with him, I always feel it’s necessary to hit back in pursuit of THE TRUTH. John Kelly is a LOWLIFE, and a bad General, whose advice in the White House I no longer sought, and told him to MOVE ON! His wife once told me, at Camp David, John admires you tremendously, and when he leaves the Military, he will only speak well of you. I said, Thank you!
Fake news talking points and hit pieces like these are what incited two assassination attempts against the former president in the last several months.
"I can't believe Trump would say he wants Hitler's generals. This man is unhinged. He needs to be stopped. I read the Atlantic every day. Kamala inspires me." pic.twitter.com/Q8P0X10cuU

All in all, this was a bad day for the Harris campaign and the discredited fake news media, and signals that Kamala’s internal polling must show her getting crushed against Trump.
