Donald Trump promised to bring an end to so-called “sanctuary cities” if he wins this year’s election.

Speaking at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, Trump said he would prevent cities from harboring illegal aliens by sending federal law enforcement to retrieve them.

“Today, I am announcing a new plan to end all sanctuary cities in North Carolina and all across our country. No more sanctuary cities,” Trump said.

“As soon as I take office, we will immediately surge federal law enforcement to every city that is failing, which is a lot of them, to turn over criminal aliens. We will hunt down and capture every single gang member, drug dealer, rapist, murder and migrant criminal that is being illegally harboured.”

Trump assured the crowd that he would win North Carolina in November.

“Exactly 45 days from now we are going to win North Carolina. We are going to defeat Kamala Harris, and we are going to Make America Great Again,” Trump said.

Trump also described himself as the “border president,” contrasting himself with Kamala Harris, whom he called the “invasion president.”

“This election is about the economy, this election is about the border. That’s what it is, and I am your border president. Your border president. Kamala would be your invasion president. She would be your country-destroying president.”
