On Friday President Donald Trump addressed the nation from his Oval Office. After discussing his economic and financial policies, the executive commented on the Ukraine War situation following Russian airstrikes against Ukrainian energy and gas infrastructure targets Thursday night.
“I’m finding it more difficult, frankly, to deal with Ukraine — and they don’t have the cards,” Trump said, before going into the upcoming peace meeting in Saudi Arabia between the U.S. and Russia, a meeting which is currently in its preparatory phase. “We’re going to find that in terms of getting a final settlement it may be easier dealing with Russia which is surprising because they have all the cards.”
Trump’s figure of speech echos him telling Ukrainian Dictator Vladimir Zelensky that he ‘does not have the cards’ during a fiery White House meeting.
"I'm finding it more difficult, frankly, to deal with Ukraine — and they don't have the cards," says @POTUS.

Trump appears to have had enough with Ukraine’s warlike antics.
“If they don’t want to settle, we’re out of there, because we want them to settle,” Trump said.

President Trump then referenced his Truth Social post from earlier in the morning where he threatened Russia with sanctions and tariffs if they do not cease fire.
“Based on the fact that Russia is absolutely ‘pounding’ Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I am strongly considering large scale Banking Sanctions, Sanctions, and Tariffs on Russia until a Cease Fire and FINAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT ON PEACE IS REACHED. To Russia and Ukraine, get to the table right now, before it is too late. Thank you!!!,” Trump said in a post.

“We’re trying to help them [Ukraine] and Ukraine has to get on the ball and get a job done.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin is now allegedly ready for a ceasefire following the financial policy threats from President Trump.
.@MikeWaltz47: The President has been crystal clear: The fighting has to stop. Both sides need to get to the table. Both leaders have said only President Trump could do so — Secretary Rubio, myself, and the Ukrainian delegation will be meeting in Saudi Arabia next week. pic.twitter.com/936UIOKTBx

Trump appears to not be inflaming the situation. On Thursday the President called for global denuclearization.
