Former President Donald Trump claimed he got the Biden regime to “move” on FEMA assistance for residents at East Palestine, Ohio, by announcing he would visit the chemical-stricken area next week.
“Biden and FEMA said they would not be sending federal aid to East Palestine. As soon as I announced that I’m going, he announced a team will go. Hopefully he will also be there,” Trump posted.
“This is good news because we got them to ‘move.’ The people of East Palestine need help. I’ll see you on Wednesday!” he added.
A Biden official told Fox News on Friday that East Palestine didn’t qualify for disaster relief because what the town “needs is much more expansive than what FEMA can provide.”
“FEMA is on the frontlines when there is a hurricane or tornado,” the official said. “This situation is different.”
Later that evening, reports emerged that Trump would visit East Palestine next Wednesday.
A source familiar confirms to Fox News that former President Trump will visit East Palestine, OH on Wednesday to tour the damage of the Norfolk Southern derailment and cleanup efforts.

After that, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) announced that Biden would in fact provide FEMA assistance to East Palestine.
“US [Environmental Protection Agency] and Ohio EPA have been working together since day one,” DeWine and Thomas Sivak of the Federal Emergency Management Agency said in a joint statement. “Tomorrow, FEMA will supplement federal efforts.”
Health and Humans Services and the CDC are also sending medical personnel and toxicologists to conduct public health testing, Biden officials said Friday.
The federal Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry will also be providing support.
