President-elect Donald Trump confirmed that he would be moving ahead with his plan for mass deportations and said there is “no price tag” attached to the scheme.
In an interview with NBC, Trump said he had “no choice” but to deport the more than 10 million illegals who have entered the country since 2020.
“We obviously have to make the border strong and powerful and, and we have to—at the same time, we want people to come into our country,” he said.
“And you know, I’m not somebody that says, ‘No, you can’t come in.’ We want people to come in.”
Trump was questioned on the cost of mass deportation. Leftist commentators have repeatedly tried to insist it would be too expensive to deport millions of people.
“It’s not a question of a price tag. It’s not—really, we have no choice,” Trump explained.
“When people have killed and murdered, when drug lords have destroyed countries, and now they’re going to go back to those countries because they’re not staying here. There is no price tag.”
During the presidential campaign, Trump promised to enact the “largest deportation operation in American history.”
Trump told NBC his message on immigration was one of the main reasons for his victory, including his historic gains with Latino voters.
“They want to have borders, and they like people coming in, but they have to come in with love for the country. They have to come in legally.”
