President-elect Donald Trump took to social media to troll Kamala Harris after it was revealed her presidential campaign spent an eye-watering amount of money, only to end up in debt.
The Harris campaign raised a record-breaking billion dollars but is now $20 million in debt.
On Saturday, Trump used his social-media platform Truth Social to offer to help the campaign meet its financial obligations.
“I am very surprised that the Democrats, who fought a hard and valiant fight in the 2020 [sic] Presidential Election, raising a record amount of money, didn’t have lots of $’s left over,” Trump posted.
“Now they are being squeezed by vendors and others. Whatever we can do to help them during this difficult period, I would strongly recommend we, as a Party and for the sake of desperately needed UNITY, do. We have a lot of money left over in that our biggest asset in the campaign was “Earned Media,” and that doesn’t cost very much. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Among the massive expenditures incurred by the Harris campaign was $100,000 spent creating a perfect copycat studio for her “Call Her Daddy” podcast interview.
The interview garnered only 814,000 views—compared to 48 million for Trump’s interview with Joe Rogan—and was filmed during the terrible aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which devastated large parts of the South, especially North Carolina and Georgia. The Biden-Harris admin was heavily criticized for its botched response and faced accusations of foot-dragging for political gain, since the regions most heavily affected were all “Red” regions.
