Authorities in Chicago have apprehended two illegal aliens suspected of robbing and murdering an elderly man at his residence in the sanctuary city, according to reports.
The horrifying incident unfolded on Sunday night in Norwood Park, described by CWB Chicago as one of the Windy City’s “safest neighborhoods.”
A woman called 911 to report finding her 63-year-old brother unresponsive in the home they shared.
The victim was bound at the hands and feet with duct tape and electrical cord and a sock had been taped across his mouth.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, having suffered fatal injuries during a brutal assault.
The sister told investigators she had last seen her brother during dinner at around 7 p.m. before he retired to his downstairs apartment, according to a police report reviewed by the Chicago Sun-Times.
At around 8:30 p.m. she heard a loud noise and while checking on the victim, she encountered a stranger whom she asked, “Is my brother okay?”
“Yes, I am with your brother. I will have him call you,” the person responded.
The sister checked on the victim again at around 10:45 p.m. after he failed to respond to multiple messages, at which time she found him inside his bedroom after prying a locked door open.
Some of his belongings and valuables were reported missing.

A brutal murder in Chicago proves that you cannot depend on ICE or law enforcement to protect you. On January 27, 2025, 63-year-old George Levin was found dead in the basement of his Norwood Park home.

Investigators believe the suspects may have targeted the victim via some sort of dating or social meet-up app.
Chicago Alderman Brian Hopkins shared information about the suspects on Wednesday in a since-deleted X post.
“Two in custody for this horrific home invasion and murder. Both offenders are undocumented migrants, one from Ecuador, one from Venezuela,” Ald. Hopkins wrote.
He later clarified that the arrests were imminent but had not yet been executed.
Two suspects were reportedly arrested on Thursday.
They are both ‘migrants,’ multiple sources informed Fox News.
It is currently unclear if either suspect has been charged.
