A professor at the University of Kansas was suspended Wednesday after footage surfaced of him telling students that men who support former President Donald Trump should be executed.
In shocking footage circulating on social media, Director of International Student-Athlete Support Phil Lowcock, Ph.D., was seen giving a lecture where he argued males should not refuse to support a female candidate, going on to say people who feel this way should be shot.
Seriously @UnivOfKansas? You’re letting this be said in your classrooms? That men who won’t vote for Kamala Harris for President should be lined up and shot?? @RogerMarshallMD @JerryMoran pic.twitter.com/7hHihxScEg

“(If you think) guys are smarter than girls, you’ve got some serious problems,” Lowcock told a lecture hall full of students.
“That’s what frustrates me. There are going to be some males in our society that will refuse to vote for a potential female president because they don’t think females are smart enough to be president. We could line all those guys up and shoot them. They clearly don’t understand the way the world works.
“Did I say that? Scratch that from the recording. I don’t want the deans hearing that I said that,” Lowcock went on to state.
A slide appeared to show the class was discussing gender differences in sleep cycles when Lowcock veered into the topic.
The lecturer’s remarks understandably sparked outrage.
@UnivOfKansas How is this acceptable at their campus?

That statement is certainly controversial and raises questions about the tone and appropriateness of such comments in an academic setting.

Universities used to be places of diverse opinions, but have turned to professors have an anti-American rhetoric the focuses on violence. @KansasUniv pic.twitter.com/F4FzRuiR8w

The University of Kansas on Wednesday released a statement saying Lowcock was put on leave pending the outcome of an investigation into his remarks, going to defend the instructor by claiming he was merely attempting to “emphasize his advocacy for women’s rights and equality.”
The university is aware of a classroom video in which an instructor made an inappropriate reference to violence. The instructor is being placed on administrative leave, pending further investigation. The instructor offers his sincerest apologies and deeply regrets the situation. His intent was to emphasize his advocacy for women’s rights and equality, and he recognizes he did a very poor job of doing so. The university has established a process for situations like this and will follow that process.
The violent rhetoric of Prof. Lowcock, whose university email handle is unabashedly “[email protected],” comes as Donald Trump has survived two assassination attempts in four months, with many blaming the left’s increasingly heated rhetoric for painting a target on the former president’s and his supporters’ backs.
