US Secretary of State Calls For End of Ukraine War Via Negotiations

The U.S. official's statements come as Russia reveals war crimes committed by Ukraine, including the torture, rape and murder of Russian civilians.

“[Ukraine is] being set back a hundred years. Their energy grid is being wiped out… And you know how many Ukrainians have left Ukraine, living in other countries now? They may never return. I mean, that is their future, and it is endangered in that regard,” Rubio said.

The U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has called for ending the Ukraine war through negotiations with Russia and has said that it was dishonest Kiev could have ever defeated Moscow.

“What the dishonesty that has existed is that we somehow led people to believe that Ukraine would be able not just to defeat Russia, but, you know, destroy them, push them all the way back to what the world looked like in… 2014,” Rubio said on Sirius XM’s ‘The Megyn Kelly Show’ on Thursday.

Rubio began speaking about the situation with the war in Europe around 44:00 into the interview. He addressed President Donald Trump’s policies and goals relating to the Panama Canal, Canada and Greenland earlier in the interview.

The Secretary of State said that the end to the war must be brought about through negotiations.

“It needs to end to a negotiation. In any negotiation, both sides are going to have to give something up,” Rubio said.

He also said how Democrats who formerly vowed to support Ukraine for ‘as long as it takes’ under the Joe Biden administration are now beginning to believe that they were funding a stalemate, or worse, the destruction of the country.

“[Ukraine is] being set back a hundred years. Their energy grid is being wiped out… And you know how many Ukrainians have left Ukraine, living in other countries now? They may never return. I mean, that is their future, and it is endangered in that regard,” Rubio said.

Russia has announced that President Vladimir Putin is ready to meet with President Trump after it was revealed that Trump is ready to meet with Putin. Previous dialogue between the two sides has angered Ukrainian ruler Vladimir Zelensky, who has recently called for nuclear weapons of his own.

Although it doesn’t not possess nuclear weapons, Ukraine has managed to inflict massive amounts of pain on Russian civilians.

On Friday Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said that the West is culpable in alleged atrocities (the rape and murder of civilians) committed by Ukrainian troops during their ongoing incursion into Kursk region of Russia.

“What kind of inhuman being tortures elderly civilians, beats them, injures them and then blows them up with grenades?” she said, referring to forensic evidence uncovered in the village.

While being interrogated by Russian investigators, a captured Ukrainian fighter admitted a military unit raped and killed eight women and murdered at least 14 additional civilians in the village of Russkoye Porechnoye in Russia’s Kursk region.

“Russkoye Porechnoye, home to around 300 people, fell under Kiev’s control in August last year during a Western-backed incursion into Russia’s Kursk Region. Russian forces liberated the settlement earlier this month, where they discovered decomposing corpses of civilians stashed in basements throughout the village,” RT said Friday. “On Friday, the Russian Investigative Committee released new evidence on the massacre, including footage of the interrogation of Yevgeny Fabrisenko, a soldier with the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade. Fabrisenko stated that he was deployed to the village on September 28 alongside his immediate commander and two other soldiers.”
