A Venezuelan male suspected of sexually assaulting a minor in Colorado has been arrested in the sanctuary city of Denver barely a year after he illegally crossed the southern border and was released by Biden’s Border Patrol, according to authorities.
On Aug. 29, 2024, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies were dispatched to a home to investigate the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old female victim.
The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Alberto Pereira Castillo, fled the scene before authorities arrived.
“Castillo’s employer owns the residence, and Castillo was temporarily staying in the basement of the home,” JCSO explained in a press release on Wednesday.
“At around 10:30 that evening, Castillo forced himself on the 14-year-old daughter of the homeowner, sexually assaulting her. He left the residence before deputies arrived.”

Nearly three months later, JCSO investigators finally tracked Pereira Castillo down in nearby Denver and took him into custody on Nov. 19.
He was charged with sexual assault of a child and is being held on just $5,000 cash bond.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement has reportedly lodged a detainer against Pereira Castillo.
Additionally, he is facing charges stemming from an arrest in Colorado in May for allegedly possessing tools for forgery and/or counterfeiting and larceny.
Pereira Castillo was apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol after illegally crossing the southern border into El Paso, TX, but was released due to overcrowding at holding facilities, Department of Homeland Security sources told the New York Post.
The Venezuelan reportedly told agents he planned to head to Orlando but somehow ended up in the sanctuary state of Colorado instead.

Tens of thousands of illegal aliens have arrived in Denver in just the past two years, and despite the chaos they have wreaked upon the surrounding region, Democrat Mayor Mike Johnston has vowed to battle efforts by the incoming Trump administration to carry out immigration enforcement in the Mile High City.
“More than us having DPD stationed at the county line to keep them out, you would have 50,000 Denverites there,” Johnston recently told Denverite.
“It’s like the Tiananmen Square moment with the rose and the gun, right? You’d have every one of those Highland moms who came out for the migrants. And you do not want to mess with them.”
