Democratic Senator Mazie Hirono was slammed Wednesday after she stood on the Senate floor and declared that opposing the pro-life movement is “literally call to arms in our country.”
Hirono, Senator for Hawaii stated “Talk about government overreach. When I hear my colleagues talking about how it should be states’ rights or government should not be telling us what to do, the word ‘hypocrites,’ it doesn’t even go far enough to call them out on what they’re doing. This is an outright attack on women in this country. That is how I see it.”
She continued, “That is how more and more women and those who support our right to make decisions about our own bodies, that is how we see it,” before making the ‘call to arms’ comment.
Watch:
Detractors pointed out that hundreds of pregnancy crisis centres have already been violently attacked in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to return abortion laws to States.
Hirono’s comments come in the wake of Democratic Congressman Tim Ryan declaring “We’ve gotta kill and confront that movement,” in reference to so called ‘MAGA Republicans’ and Hillary Clinton comparing them to Al Qaeda:
Ryan followed up on his comments after criticism, claiming that he was talking about defending police on January 6th, which his comments clearly had nothing to do with.
