An interview posted by The Hill on Monday shows a member of the Honduran migrant caravan making its way toward America admitting Joe Biden’s immigration policies are a driving force behind their voyage.
The man, who says he’s from the Honduran tourist island Roatán, explained he hopes to get to the U.S. soon because of the incoming Biden administration.
“He’s gonna help all of us,” the individual said of Biden. “He’s giving us 100 days to get to the U.S. and give us legal paper so we can get a better life for our kids and family.”
The migrant is likely referring to a pledge by the Biden campaign to place a 100-day halt on deportations at the border once inaugurated.
The group he is traveling with is reported to be at least 7,000 strong and is currently in Guatemala.
Joe Biden is expected to announce massive immigration reform within days of being sworn into office.
One such proposal is total amnesty for over 11 million illegals currently residing in the US.
