Despite Western media reports that Ukraine is on the verge of victory against Russia, the opposite is actually true, U.S. Army General Christopher Cavoli told Congress last week.
Gen. Cavoli explained in testimony to the House Armed Services Committee on Wednesday that the “degradation of the Russian forces” was grossly misrepresented by the media.
“Much of the Russian military has not been affected negatively by this conflict,” Cavoli said.

Not only that, he said, but Russia’s overall military activity outside of the sphere of the Ukraine conflict has been the highest in years.
“The Russians are more active than we’ve seen in years and their patrol throughout the Atlantic are at a high level most of the time. At a higher level than we’ve seen in years,” Cavoli noted.
Cavoli’s remarks come after an accused Pentagon leaker released a trove of classified documents on Discord showing the U.S. and NATO are much less confident about the Ukraine conflict than media reports suggest.
That helps explain why Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been constantly begging the U.S. for billions more dollars in aid and weapons.
This also comes after a Ukrainian plot to assassinate Russian Vladimir Putin failed over the weekend when a crashed kamikaze drone was discovered near Moscow.
