Walmart has announced a new drone delivery service in Florida, Texas, and Arizona to expand its delivery operations.

Walmart has partnered with tech company DroneUp to deliver groceries after previously working together to distribute COVID-19 test kits.

“As of Dec. 15, 2022, Walmart drone delivery is available in select markets in Texas, Arizona and Florida. Many customers in the Tampa, Orlando, Phoenix and Dallas areas can take advantage of same-day delivery via drone,” Walmart announced.

From Just The News:

In May, the grocery chain said it would use DroneUp to deliver up to 10 pounds of items within 30 minutes for a $3.99 fee.

Walmart said at the time its goal was to expand drone delivery to 4 million homes in Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Texas, Utah and Virginia by the end of 2023.

Certified pilots will use the drones to deliver the products within FAA guidelines, Walmart said.

The deployment of drones for commercial uses is steadily increasing, especially after the COVID crisis.

Though corporations promote technology like drones or QR codes as an added convenience, the reality is these technologies will eventually be used for totalitarian purposes, as already demonstrated in Communist China.
