Following last month’s historic invasion of Eagle Pass, Texas, the number of migrants arriving by train is climbing again in Piedras Negras, Mexico.

More than 6,000 migrants are slamming Mexico’s southern border every day, and many are still hopping northbound trains, despite alleged efforts to prevent such activities.

“These caravans have arrived in the last days of October, still by train,” Border Hawk correspondent Efraín González reports from the ground in Mexico.

“The train routes have been normalized with migrants getting off a few miles from this border. They can quickly reach the Rio Grande, walking without impediment, despite the presence of the police and Mexican national guard.”

Last month, Border Hawk was the first to report that hundreds of migrants hailing mostly from Venezuela were arriving via trains every day in Piedras Negras.
