A Catholic nun is being hailed as a heroine for her efforts in thwarting an ecological terrorist attempting to disrupt the construction of a new church in France, according to reports.
The incident unfolded on Monday in Saint-Pierre-de-Colombier, a commune in the department of Ardèche.
“Environmental activists” turned up at the building site of Notre-Dame des Neiges, a large Catholic center being erected in the town.
Feral protesters tried to prevent an excavator from breaking ground as nuns and Catholic men circled the machine in prayer and song.
Physical altercations broke out and at one point, a man running with pipes designed for “arm lock” protest tactics was intercepted by a Catholic sister in a collision that has gone viral on social media, racking up millions of views.
The long-haired agitator can be seen sprinting past a group of people engaged in an apparent confrontation.
Suddenly, a woman in religious garb dives out, grabs the man by his jacket, and slams him into a pit of dirt as the devices fly out of his hands.
A man immediately begins stomping on the pipes to destroy them.
“Well done my Sister! A courageous nun tackles a swindler activist to the ground in Ardèche who was physically opposing the construction of a Catholic center!” wrote Florian Philippot, president of the Les Patriotes group.
“He would be better off campaigning against the EU and its ultra-polluting free trade agreements! The nun put him in his place!”
Anti-Christian activists have reportedly been trying to stop the construction of the Catholic center since 2018, claiming a rare species of jackfruit will be disrupted in the process.
