The winner of Tuesday night’s debate was obvious to anyone who watched, including left-leaning CNN correspondents who begrudgingly had to admit Trump running mate J.D. Vance utterly destroyed Kamala Harris VP pick Tim Walz.
In post-debate coverage, CNN reporters commented Vance trounced Walz, who appeared unprepared for the challenge.
“…JD Vance came to this debate to land a bunch of punches and he did,” noted CNN’s Abby Phillip. “He landed a lot of punches in between all the niceties and all of that.”
“And the thing that really stood out to me was that Tim Walz did not seem prepared for it,” she added.

Responding to Phillip’s analysis, correspondent Dana Bash attempted to claim she believed Walz’s stumbles were a result of over-preparation.
“I think actually it’s the opposite,” Bash said.

“I think he had too much preparation,” she said, adding Walz may have been too focused on getting across talking points rather than speaking to what Vance was saying.
CNN’s John King additionally pointed out “Vance carried it” on the two largest issues of the election, the border and the economy.

In another segment, CNN anchor Jake Tapper noted Vance simply delivered a stronger performance than Walz, saying, “Vance clearly, I think it needs to be said, clearly the more experienced debater, the slicker speaker.”

CNN correspondent Scott Jennings hit the point home elsewhere during the network’s post-debate coverage, highlighting how Walz’s anxious, panicked performance was made all the worse by Vance’s experienced posture.
CNN's @ScottJenningsKY on the #VPDebate: "It's pretty clear Vance outclassed Walz tonight. I mean, I was watching this and all I could think of was — man, Walz is so in over his head. “It’s pretty clear Vance outclassed Walz tonight,” Jennings said.
“I mean, I was watching this and all I could think of was, ‘Man, Walz is so in over his head.'”
“I mean, can you imagine this guy sitting in the White House situation room with that facial expression?” he continued. “That’s like 50% sheer terror and 50% extreme bafflement?”
Despite leftist media attempting to pretend Walz delivered a solid performance, Vance’s vast experience made him a formidable opponent who couldn’t be overcome.
