Popular television host “Dr. Phil” McGraw trekked over to Western North Carolina to take a firsthand look at the damage caused by Hurricane Helene and deliver supplies to the Americans in the region who desperately need assistance.

Dr. Phil explained in the thirty-minute special, “When I saw that the media was not paying attention to this, and it didn’t seem to me that the government was paying much attention to this, I got on the phone with my team and said, ‘Guys, we need to be paying attention to this at Merit TV. So, we started scrambling right fast, finding all the supplies we could get; water, food, diapers, pet food… generators, solar-powered generators.”
Throughout the visit, the TV host spoke with several locals affected by the storm and volunteers working to provide aid to those who are without power, food, water, gas and other necessities.
At one point, an elderly woman living by herself flagged down the caravan Dr. Phil was traveling with to ask for help as she was without power, food and water, and had heart surgery just two weeks before.
The group quickly took out a generator and got it running for the woman before setting her up with running water as well as a Starlink internet system.
Sue flagged down our crew during our time in North Carolina this weekend. She had no power, no food, no water, and no ability to travel. She had just undergone heart surgery two weeks ago. Private citizens are doing more for the people hit by Helene than the Biden-Harris administration.
