POWELL: “No.”
According to The Hill, Powell later stressed that “it is ‘not permitted under the law’ for the president to fire or demote him or any of the other Fed governors with leadership positions.”
The press conference was on the heels of the Federal Reserve approving its second consecutive interest rate cut.
“In a follow-up to September’s big half percentage point reduction, the Federal Open Market Committee lowered its benchmark overnight borrowing rate by a quarter percentage point, or 25 basis points, to a target range of 4.50%-4.75%,” reports CNBC. “The rate sets what banks charge each other for overnight lending but often influences consumer debt instruments such as mortgages, credit cards and auto loans.”
“Markets had widely expected the move, which was telegraphed both at the September meeting and in follow-up remarks from policymakers since then. The vote was unanimous, unlike the previous move that saw the first “no” vote from a Fed governor since 2005.”
Critics online tore into the chairman.
The #Fed cut interest rates by 25 basis points, claiming they’re confident they'll achieve their long-term #inflation target of 2%. #Powell can’t possibly believe that, considering a $36 trillion #NationalDebt and the prospect of 2025 tax cuts sending demand and deficits soaring.

Here's something many don't know: The Fed is not actually part of the government. Unelected bureaucrats control your money and cause inflation.

Powell just said the Fed's plan on how to deal with stagflation is not to have stagflation. Then he laughed. That says it all. Sell your dollars and buy gold now, while you still can.
