A Pennsylvania Democrat voter was forcibly kicked out of a restaurant after asking Sen. John Fetterman (D) why he isn’t supporting a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

Lawyer Dan Kovalik confronted Fetterman at a restaurant Sunday to ask why he won’t support a ceasefire in Gaza as the death toll reportedly hits 8,000.

“Why don’t you support a humanitarian ceasefire?” he asked Fetterman before one of the senator’s handlers intervened.

“I can’t to talk to him. I voted for him! I’m sorry, this is a democracy,” he told the handler.

The handler replied, “It absolutely is.”

“Well, kind of. Sort of,” Kovalik replied, before turning back to Fetterman, who still hadn’t said a word.

“10,000 people in Gaza have been killed. Half are children,” he told Fetterman. “The Pope’s calling for a ceasefire. The UN has called for it. I’m just asking, you’re a good guy, I voted for you. I know you’re a nice guy. This is important.”

At that point Fetterman’s handler stepped in and forcibly shoved Kovalik away from the senator and out of the restaurant.

“You need to leave,” he said as he pushed Kovalik to the exit.

Kovalik’s questioning was likely wasted on Fetterman, who doesn’t seem capable of engaging in deep topics like war following his stroke in 2022 and subsequent hospitalization over his mental health that resulted in his absence from Congressional duties for six weeks.

This comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared Monday that there will be no ceasefire in Gaza.

“The Bible says that there is a time for peace and a time for war. This is a time for war,” Netanyahu said during a televised address.

It seems the days of politicians being held to account by their constituents are over — in Pennsylvania at least.
