New York Attorney General Letitia James furiously criticized President Donald Trump and DOGE Task force leader Elon Musk just days after federal funding for luxury housing for illegal aliens was cut from the state.

The Democrat AG addressed the press outside the US District courthouse in New York Friday, slamming Trump and Musk for allegedly violating the Constitution by taking over the federal money disbursement system known as the US Treasury.

“It is unacceptable, unconstitutional,” James ranted to reporters.

“They have exceeded their authority. And so it’s important that attorneys general representing our respective states stand up and enforce the rule of law, because Elon Musk, individuals at the Treasury and the President of these United States is not above the law,” she said.

James’ tirade came as her office released a statement with attorneys general from 11 other states Friday condemning Musk and DOGE for accessing Americans’ personal and banking information and announcing a joint lawsuit.

“Last week, Elon Musk and his team got into our nation’s central payment system in the Treasury Department, giving them unauthorized access to the Social Security numbers, bank account information, and other private data of tens of millions of Americans,” James’ statement read.

“To protect our states’ residents, we filed a lawsuit to stop the madness. Just a few hours later, we won a court order blocking Musk and DOGE from accessing Americans’ personal information and ordering the destruction of all the copies of records they had obtained.”

“Elon Musk may be the richest man in the world, but the law is clear: he has no authority to access your private information. The Constitution gives Congress – not the President – primary control over federal spending.”

The NY AG’s protests to DOGE’s auditing of the Treasury comes as FEMA earlier this week clawed back $59 million in federal funds from the state earmarked for illegal aliens’ hotels, security, food and other expenses.

As for James, US Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Wednesday the DOJ plans to sue the NY AG, Democrat New York Governor Kathy Hochul and others over sanctuary policies and laws allowing illegals to obtain driver’s licenses.

“This is a new DOJ, and we are taking steps to protect Americans…New York has chosen to prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens. It stops today,” Bondi said. “As you know, we sued Illinois, and New York didn’t listen. So now, you’re next.”

“President Trump has directed this to stop. And if you don’t comply with federal law, we will hold you accountable. We did it to Illinois, strike one. Strike two is New York,” she added. “And if you are a state not complying with federal law, you’re next, get ready.”
