Democrat Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass found herself grilled by a reporter upon returning to the city from Africa on Wednesday over her failure to properly address the raging wildfires that have ravaged Palisades.
As she was waiting to deplane upon her return from Ghana, Bass was confronted by a Sky News reporter who barraged her with questions over her competence and whether she regretted downsizing the fire department.
“Do you owe citizens an apology for being absent while their homes were burning? Do you regret cutting the fire department budget by millions of dollars, madam mayor?” the reporter asked.
Bass chose to ignore his questions.

This is exactly how these people should be treated.

“Have you nothing to say today?” he asked. “Have you absolutely nothing to say to the citizens today?”
Bass last year had cut $17.5 million from the city’s fire department budget.
Additionally, the LAFD led by “the first female and LGBTQ Fire Chief in the LAFD” Kristin Crowley had also implemented an internal “racial equity plan” by subjecting employees to diversity training.

The Sky News reporter went on to point out the criticism Bass received from Elon Musk and others and again asked if she owed her constituents an apology.
“Elon Musk says that you’re utterly incompetent. Are you reconsidering your position?” he asked. “Madam mayor, have you absolutely nothing to say to the citizens today who are dealing with this disaster? No apology for them?”
“Do you think you should have been visiting Ghana while this was unfolding back home?” he asked.
Bass continued to hang her head in shame and refuse to engage with him.
Meanwhile, California Governor Gavin Newsom heaped effusive praise on Bass for her leadership “in absentia.”
It’s unclear exactly what leadership Bass actually demonstrated during the unfolding wildfire disaster, which remains 0% contained and has already scorched over 5,500 square acres since Tuesday and resulted in mass evacuations.
Thanks to “climate change” policies by Bass and other California Democrats like Newsom, the Golden State has been experiencing major water shortages which have left firefighters unable to adequately battle the spreading blaze.
