“Cash, cash, cash,” the suspects reportedly demanded.
After acquiring money from the registers and grabbing multiple cell phones, the suspects were moving through the store when suddenly a worker grabbed a firearm of his own and started shooting.
Both suspects were struck, one of whom managed to escape.
The employee can be seen running for safety as the wounded suspect moves around on the ground.
The worker can then be seen returning and discharging several more rounds at the suspect, who later died.
The deceased was identified as 16-year-old Cecil Batiz.
Police later arrested Teony Juarez, 18, on a variety of charges, including armed robbery with use of a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm.
The shop clerk had not been charged as of Thursday.
An investigation is ongoing.
