The mayor of a North Carolina town says his daughter, whose home was destroyed by catastrophic flooding, applied for relief assistance touted by Vice President Kamala Harris — but was denied!

Derek Roberts, the mayor of Newland, detailed the incident in a recent interview with Fox News, suggesting many hurricane victims are finding it hard to claim the purported $750 FEMA payout recently promised by Harris.

“So my daughter – whose house got completely wiped out, she has no flood insurance – meets with a FEMA person [and] applies for everything. She get doesn’t get the $750 that Kamala says that she’s supposed to get.”

Instead, Roberts said his daughter “gets approved for $300 for personal Items.”

“What is that going to do?” Roberts asked incredulously, adding, “That’s literally what she got.”

“Her entire first floor is wiped out. We hauled everything off. It’s gone…”

“So they didn’t even give her the full $750?” a reporter asked.

“They didn’t give her $750, denied the $750. They gave her $300 – That wouldn’t even cover what’s in the refrigerator,” Roberts said.

The mayor’s testimony comes as Kamala Harris emerged last week and offered $750 to affected victims, following a barrage of criticism over her administration’s lackluster Hurricane response.

Is it a surprise to anyone the Biden-Harris administration is turning its back on hurricane victims in primarily red states?
