Independent journalist Nate Friedman hit the streets of New York City’s largest Orthodox Jew neighborhood to find out why the group supports Donald Trump while more moderate Jews lean towards Kamala Harris.
While some interviewees mentioned Trump being “better” for Israel and the Jewish people, most of them cited the illegal immigrant invasion, poor economy and foreign policy failures as reasons they don’t support the Democrat candidate.
Friedman decided to conduct the social experiment in response to a recent poll claiming 72% of American Jews support Kamala Harris.
“It seems like in America, the Jewish community and the Orthodox community want two very different things. Most people would assume their interests would be aligned,” he said.
