Senate Democrats tripped over themselves badgering and haranguing Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth during his confirmation hearing on Tuesday.
In a true case of obnoxious grandstanding, Democrats on the Armed Services Committee peppered Hegseth with a range of bizarre hypothetical questions, including his stance on DEI, whether he’d resign if he drank on the job, and whether women should serve in the military.

Reacting to the hearing, Vice President-elect J.D. Vance wrote on X, “I find this grandstanding from Senate Democrats over the Hegseth confirmation perplexing. We haven’t won a war in three decades and we have a major recruitment challenge. Hegseth is assuredly NOT more of the same, and that’s good!”
