Authorities in Texas busted a known gang member smuggling more than a dozen illegal aliens in a box underneath a flatbed trailer last week.
The shocking discovery was made in Laredo on September 6, but the Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) just released footage this week.
TxDPS Special Agents pulled over a pickup truck hauling a trailer that appeared to be empty.
However, “a search of the trailer revealed 17 illegal immigrants concealed inside a box container underneath the flatbed without proper ventilation. This included 14 males, 2 females and one juvenile from Mexico and Guatemala,” TxDPS explained in a statement.
All of the illegal migrants were turned over to Border Patrol.
The driver, identified as 34-year-old Alfredo Alvarez Jr., is a known member of the Tango gang.
He was arrested and charged with 17 counts of smuggling persons with the likelihood of bodily injury.
A day later, TxDPS troopers stopped a stolen commercial truck towing a trailer with nine illegal aliens locked inside.
