Utah Senator Mitt Romney (R) announced Wednesday that he won’t seek reelection in 2024.
“I spent my last 25 years in public service of one kind or another,” Romney said in a video posted on social media. “At the end of another term, I’d be in my mid-80s. Frankly, it’s time for a new generation of leaders.”

“While I’m not running for reelection, I’m not retiring from the fight,” he said. “I’ll be your United States senator until January of 2025.”
Romney, 76, was the Republican nominee for president in 2012 and won election to the Senate in 2018.
Romney was also one of seven RINO Republican Senators who voted to convict former President Donald Trump in his second impeachment trial in 2021.
He was also the only Republican Senator who voted to convict Trump in his first impeachment trial in 2019, making him the the first senator in US history to vote to remove from office a president from the same party.
Conservatives on X celebrated Romney’s impending exit from the Senate.

Good riddance. One less vote for the democrats. A win for Utah and America.

Oh, look, the coward doesn't want to get the "Liz Cheney" treatment in the primary, so he's taking his ball and going home.
