A new CNN report praises the Biden administration for housing illegal immigrant children in a migrant “overflow facility” — a method labeled “throwing kids in cages” during the Trump era.
From CNN:
“The Biden administration is opening an overflow facility for unaccompanied migrant children apprehended at the US-Mexico border, the federal agency tasked with the children’s care told CNN in a statement.
“The Health and Human Services Department will reopen a facility in Carrizo Springs, Texas, that can accommodate about 700 children and can be expanded if necessary.
“The reopening of the facility comes amid an increase in apprehensions of unaccompanied children on the Southwest border, fueled in part by deteriorating conditions in Latin America and a perceived possible relaxation of enforcement, and reduced capacity limits at other facilities due to Covid-19.”
The rosy depiction of the detention facilities amid yet another illegal immigrant surge is at odds with the media’s portrayal of the exact same measure taken by Trump, yet during his tenure he was constantly bombarded by disingenuous claims he was throwing “kids in cages.”

The screeching reached absurd levels when liberals began circulating 2014 photos of illegal immigrant children housed in Border Patrol facilities behind chain-link fences during Obama’s term – while accusing President Trump of being responsible.

The same lie was promulgated by 2020 presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg last year when he released an attack ad blaming President Trump for the caged children – while at the same time misleadingly featuring footage from 2014.
The mischaracterization caused Social Justice orgs and their liberal counterparts to begin treating Border Patrol and ICE officers as “Stasi agents” working under the control of literally Hitler, with some committing terrorist acts such as firebombing an ICE facility in Washington state.
But with Democrats now in power, it’s clear the media is attempting to reframe border control efforts in order to tamp down criticism.
