On Thursday, the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government allowed FBI whistleblowers to provide testimony on the politicization of the bureau and how it retaliates against employees who speak out.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) led a press conference where they aired videos of whistleblower testimonies exposing disturbing corruption at the FBI.
“The FBI has been victimized by political capture, and that politicization has manifested in the targeting of Americans who never deserve to have this government weaponized against them,” Gaetz said before playing the testimonies. “Whistleblowers saw those bad acts, they stepped forward, and they were retaliated against and crushed as a consequence. And our work today will build on the work of special counsel Durham…”
The first whistleblower footage aired by the subcommittee came from former United States Marine, local police officer and FBI special agent Garrett O’Boyle, who claimed he was “wrongfully suspended by the FBI” and that the bureau rendered his family homeless in retaliation for speaking out.
O’Boyle said the FBI “wants to get rid of people who simply just don’t toe the line that they want,” adding, “They don’t want critical thinkers. They don’t want people who raise valid questions to their chain of command.”
The former FBI employee also warned his colleagues not to speak out unless they wanted the full force of the agency to “crush” them and their “family.”
Another whistleblower, former FBI employee Steve Friend, was reportedly ostracized by his own FBI office because he attended school board meetings in order to have a say in his children’s education.
The FBI also allegedly prevented Friend from seeking another form of employment to support his family after he spoke out against the bureau for intentionally inflating data to make domestic extremism out to be a larger threat than it is in reality.
Imploring the government to listen to his testimony, Friend explained, “I sacrificed my dream job to deliver this information to the American people.”

FBI supervisory intelligence analyst George Hill was the next individual to provide sworn testimony, explaining the bureau likely had undercover officers, confidential informants and FBI assets at the Jan. 6th Capitol debacle.
An FBI employee reportedly told Hill “we need to protect” the identities of the individuals who cooperated with the government agency on that infamous day.
FBI analyst Marcus Allen also testified on Thursday, telling the committee he too was concerned with the federal government’s own involvement in January 6th.
“Video to me indicated potential problems with the investigation as far as informants were concerned,” Allen said. “And our organization’s potential forthrightness about utilization of informants there on that day that might have some impact on our cases. And the, you know, the subjects that we were looking up. And then just a general awareness overall for the investigation as a whole, that there might have been some kind of potential federal involvement with the activities on January 6th. And I thought it was important enough that it, like wanted our attention.”
In response to Allen boldly speaking out, the FBI suspended him without pay for over a year and claimed he was “disloyal” to his country.
He claims this retaliation was specifically due to his speaking out about the bureau’s involvement in January 6th.

When Rep. Linda Sánchez (D-CA) asked Allen if he agreed with a retweet by a Twitter account under the name Marcus Allen that claimed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “staged January 6th,” he told her the social media account was not his and he did not agree with the statement.
At one point during the hearing, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) insisted the individuals testifying “are not whistleblowers” because the FBI determined they “are not to be whistleblowers.”
Responding to the ludicrous claim, Rep. Jordan explained “the law decides” who is a whistleblower, not the agency which the employees were exposing.
