Local media had to pan away from a Los Angeles resident after he gave a controversial take on why the city was ablaze.
Approaching a Fox 11 reporter on the ground conducting a live shot, one man asked, “Why is there a fire happening right now?”
“There are multiple fires that are taking place. Yes,” the reporter tells the man.
“Are you serious?” the man responds. “You’re the news though, you’re supposed to know.”

“Well, I don’t know how it started. We don’t know how it started. There are winds…” the reporter attempts to answer before the man cuts her off.
“I think it’s all the…all the gay people in LA,” the man says, prompting the cameraman and Fox 11 anchors back at the studio to freak out, with one woman heard saying, “Unacceptable.”
The man’s comment about the city burning due to “the gays” was likely a reference to the biblical allegory of the twin cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, which in The Old Testament faced God’s wrath of fire and brimstone as punishment due to the degeneracy and immorality of their residents.
