Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kent.) says he has asked the intelligence community and White House for any evidence that he was surveilled by President Obama.
Friday morning Paul tweeted “I have formally requested from the WH and the Intel Committees info on whether I was surveilled by Obama admin and or the Intel community!”

The tweet appears to build off of President Trump’s claim that the Obama administration had wiretapped Trump tower during the campaign. Though it appears that Trump transition team members communicated with foreign officials who had been wiretapped, inadvertently capturing those transition team members on tape, and Susan Rice is now accused of using discretionary authority to “unmask” identities in those files, neither are illegal, uncommon, ordered by the president or occurred before the election.
For their parts, Rice denies any attempt to ding President Trump through unmasking files and FBI Director James Comey has flatly any direct surveillance of the Trump campaign.
