I have attached a copy of an article below that appears in today’s edition of the Washington Times and the title of that article, basically says it all, “No finish in sight for ‘virtual’ border fence.”

I have written many commentaries about our nation’s abysmal failures to do virtually anything competently where many issues are concerned, but especially where the securing of our nation’s borders and the creation of an immigration system that has real integrity. As I have noted on a variety of occasions at various venues, “A virtual fence will stop virtually no one!”

Today I have attached three news reports to this commentary. I have attached the Washington Times news report, I have attached the transcript to the excellent 60 Minutes news report that aired on CBS nearly 2 months ago in which CBS Correspondent Steve Kroft hammered the massive screwup known variously as the “Virtual Fence,” “SBI (Secure Border Initiative” and, most recently, “SBInet.”

Finally, I have also provided you, below, with a copy of an article that appeared online at NextGov on February 1st, entitled, “Delays prompt White House to propose deep cut in secure border initiative.”
