At least 26 people have been killed after a rocket strike targeted a wedding party in Afghanistan, AP reported.

Another 45 people have been wounded, police spokesman Fareed Ahmad Obaid said, as the rocket fired during the fight between government forces and Taliban insurgents hit a house in the southern province of Helmand.

At the same time, a provincial council member gave a higher death toll estimate of as many as 30 people and the number of wounded as high as 60, AP reported.
