It’s another one of those “pot / kettle” things that Obama is so famous for.

President Obama remarked Tuesday that the “vulgar and divisive rhetoric” that has been heard on the campaign trail this political season “has to stop.”

He made his less-than -friendly remarks at the Friends of Ireland Luncheon hosted by House Speaker Paul Ryan at the Capitol.

CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller was there taking notes and reporting.

He added that “the corrosive behavior can undermine our democracy and our society.”

Well, the president should know all about this — he’s been engaging in “corrosive behavior” and “divisive rhetoric” full-throttle for eight years now, without any sign of letup.

And social media was only too happy to remind him.

And he wasn’t talking about al-Qaida on that one — he was referring to the Republican Party during his first presidential run.

If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama said at a Philadelphia fundraiser. “Because from what I understand folks in Philly like a good brawl.”

This one pretty much summed it all up.

If this is the manner Obama chose to repay Ryan’s hospitality, I somehow doubt that the speaker will be inviting him to any more luncheons.
