Jen Psaki followed her State Department script closely on July 15.
She said Russia has neglected to provide sufficient evidence Ukraine lobbed a mortar shell into Russia on Sunday, killing a civilian.
“The US Embassy defense attache received an invitation from the Russian Ministry of Defense to visit the Rostov region, accepted the invitation. The Ukrainian Government, as I noted, has of course, denied these allegations. The trip and the itinerary was controlled by the Russian Government without input from the participants. It wasn’t conclusive in our view,” Psaki said.
Psaki, the press secretary for Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, is notorious for her ineptitude in handling the press. Critics have compared her performance to a skit on Jon Stewart’s comedy news show.
