An Israeli drone has been downed over the southwestern Syrian city of Quneitra, near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, local media reported Sunday.
At the time it was downed, the aircraft was flying over a region that has been monitored by the U.N. peacekeepers since 1974 according to Damascus military official reports.
No further details have been given and no comment from the Israeli officials has been released so far.
The unmanned aerial vehicle is reportedly an Israeli-ade Skylark I model. The drone has system for tactical surveillance and reconnaissance as well as a range of 20/40 km, making it one of the most commonly used drones in missions in Afghanistan and Iraq.
