A 14-year-old Volusia County girl armed herself with a bow-and-arrow early Saturday to confront an intruder in her home.
Mariah Reed was home alone when she heard the doorbell ringing at about 5:30 a.m. Thinking her mother was at the door, Mariah deactivated the house alarm, unlocked the front door and then returned to her bedroom, a Sheriff’s Office report said.
Mariah then heard an unfamiliar woman’s voice. The teen texted her mother, and discovered she was not home.
