U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood stood on the back of a train and lauded stimulus spending, telling critics, “Baloney! The stimulus worked.”

LaHood’s comment followed his remarks about 30 second advertisements “about the fact the stimulus didn’t work.”

“That is what this is about today. A good use of stimulus money and I know they’re not running any thirty second ads up here about the fact the stimulus didn’t work, because people here know better. In some places in the country they’re trying to say to people ‘the stimulus didn’t work’ – Baloney! The stimulus worked, this is it,” LaHood said at the Oct 5th event in Brattleboro.
