Why can’t we have this Trump all the time? This is the Trump I voted for.
According to the fake news media, we’re supposed to be outraged Trump said he’d be “honored” to meet with Kim Jung Un “under the right circumstances.”
U.S. President Donald Trump said he would meet with Kim Jong Un amid heightened tensions over North Korea’s nuclear weapons program if the circumstances were right.
“If it would be appropriate for me to meet with him, I would absolutely, I would be honored to do it,” Trump said Monday in an Oval Office interview with Bloomberg News. “If it’s under the, again, under the right circumstances. But I would do that.”
The U.S. has no diplomatic relations with North Korea, and as recently as last week Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the U.S. would negotiate with Kim’s regime only if it made credible steps toward giving up its nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles.
“Most political people would never say that,” Trump said of his willingness to meet with the reclusive Kim, “but I’m telling you under the right circumstances I would meet with him. We have breaking news.”
It’s common sense statements like this which made Trump so appealing during the general election. Same goes for his formerly fair treatment of Putin.
We talked with the Soviet Union at the height of the cold war with hundreds of nuclear bombs ready to be launched at one another.
As any questioning of Washington’s Neocon foreign policy is considered blasphemous, the fake news media is throwing a fit with stupid headlines like this one from the Washington Post:
Sean Spicer, unfortunately, later added more qualifiers to Trump’s comment.
“We’ve got to see their provocative behavior ratchet down immediately,” he said. “There’s a lot of conditions that I think would have to happen with respect to its behavior and to show signs of good faith. Clearly, conditions are not there right now.”
Why the hell not? Maybe the two would hit it off Rodman-style and K-Jong would chill the hell out.
