The Obama administration ordered a local Border Patrol union to cancel their meeting with Donald Trump, the billionaire presidential candidate said at a press conference today.
Meeting with city officials in Laredo, Texas, about the growing threat illegal immigration poses to South Texas and the nation as a whole, the real estate tycoon detailed how his team was “virtually in the air” when his staff received the call that local Border Patrol Union #2455 representatives had cancelled their meeting with him.
“As you know the border patrol was the one that invited me,” Trump says. “Then they cancelled because frankly they don’t want to get involved.”
“The reason they invited was because of the tremendous problem and the tremendous crime and all of the things that you’re talking about,” Trump told a reporter, adding, “and I heard they got those orders from Washington.”
“What evidence specifically have you seen?” a reporter asks.
“We’ll be showing you the evidence,” Trump answers, refusing to elaborate.
The billionaire’s campaign had released an earlier statement blaming “superiors in Washington” for the cancellation of his meeting.
“They were totally silenced directly from superiors in Washington who do not want people to know how bad it is on the border, every bit as bad as Mr. Trump has been saying,” the statement read.
The reality TV host has seen a surge at the polls since he took up the cause of confronting the widening problem of illegal immigration.
His position was further bolstered following the death of 25-year-old American citizen Kate Steinle in San Francisco at the hands of an illegal immigrant five times deported.
“Suddenly, a shot rang out, Kate fell and looked up at me and said, ‘Help me, dad,’” Steinle’s father testified before a Senate Judiciary Committee earlier this week. “Those were the last words I will ever hear from my daughter.”
Despite federal judge Andrew Hanen ordering many Obama administration officials to appear before the court to explain why they had violated multiple injunctions, the Department of Homeland Security on Tuesday moved to extend the rights of people from around the world who enter the country illegally at the expense of taxpayers.
While reporters at the presser inquired whether Trump had personally witnessed proof of criminal activity while at the border, Infowars.com reporters only miles away documented a drug smuggling operation in real time, adding credence to Trump’s statements regarding criminal illegal aliens.
