A U.S. health care worker who has tested positive for the Ebola virus will be admitted Friday to a hospital run by the National Institutes of Health.
NIH says the “individual was volunteering services in an Ebola treatment unit in Sierra Leone and will be transported back to the United States in isolation via a chartered aircraft.”
The NIH Clinical Center Special Clinical Studies Unit, one of a small number of high-level containment facilities in the United States, will admit and treat the worker.
NIH previously treated a different patient with Ebola at the same center, its press release notes.
