Twitter CEO Elon Musk has restored former President Donald Trump’s account Saturday after conducting an online poll, but won’t reinstate Alex Jones despite a similar poll showing most users want him to return.
Musk’s poll amassed over 15 million votes before he reinstated Trump’s account with the accompanying message, “Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” meaning, “the voice of the people is the voice of God.”

Notably, the comedic duo the Hodge twins conducted a similar informal poll on Musk’s thread addressing Alex Jones, asking, “Should Elon bring back Alex Jones?”
The poll received 308,614 votes, with 54.9% of users voting “Yes,” and 45.1% saying no — a vote margin of 10% in favor.
Should Elon bring back Alex Jones?

Contrast that with Trump’s poll, who won by a margin of 4% in favor.
If Musk was serious about democratizing Twitter, he would heed the poll and allow Jones back onto the platform.
“Smart marketing by @elonmusk on Trump poll, but there is 0 chance Trump returns to Twitter actively because of his deal with Truth,” noted constitutional lawyer Robert Barnes.
“If Musk really wanted to show his opposition to cancel culture, reinstate #AlexJones.”

Musk had rejected calls to bring back Alex Jones on Friday without explanation, only a simple “No.”

Jones responded Saturday that he would like to see Musk secure total control over Twitter first before bringing back figures like himself or Trump.

Now that that appears to have happened in the case of Trump, perhaps it’s time for Musk to unleash the shackles of censorship and restore not only Jones, but the hundreds of other journalists, physicians, and influencers who have been de-platformed for wrongthink.
Alex Jones is the litmus test, @elonmusk. Not just on the issue of freedom of speech, but on the issue of not bending the knee to political and judicial intimidation. If this is a hard “no”, your Twitter will never be any more trustworthy than @paraga or @Jack‘s twitter. https://t.co/l7HxyHB3Ub

Reinstate Alex Jones before you reinstate Donald Trump. https://t.co/awNAwGoqdD

But what exactly has Jones done that makes his return off the table?
The court cases? General conspiracies?
Does it matter if that behavior didn’t actually take place on Twitter?

So Alex Jones can’t come back to Twitter, but @pfizer, who lied, injured, and killed people, can stay on?

Alex Jones/Infowars deserves the Nobel.

It’s moments like these and the decision to not bring back Alex Jones that make me shake my Head. I question Elon Musks motives more and more everyday..

The bird is free, sort of, not really. Well, we won’t ban your tweets. We’ll just make sure no one sees the tweet unless they actively search for it, which never happens. Also, we’re not letting Alex jones back on and we’re still unsure about trump. This is free speech – Elon

If Elon is serious about not relying on advertisers funding Twitter and cares about Free Speech, then most everyone should be reinstated, including Jones. https://t.co/SJ7u6efpPx
