Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon was indicted Tuesday by New York prosecutors in a move he claims is part of the “partisan political weaponization of the criminal justice system.”

The Manhattan DA’s office is indicting the former Trump adviser with the same charges he was hit with in a 2020 federal case alleging he defrauded donors to the We Build the Wall charity.

“They are coming after all of us,” Bannon said in a statement, “not only President Trump and myself. I am never going to stop fighting. In fact, I have not yet begun to fight. They will have to kill me first.”

Bannon responded to the indictment with a scathing statement claiming it was part of a continued intimidation campaign by a “Soros-backed DA” to shut him down ahead of the midterms, citing the string of swatting attempts against him.

“Just days after being swatted three different times by deranged thugs from New York City inspired by the Biden Administration to assassinate me by police, the Soros-backed DA has now decided to pursue phony charges against me 60 days before the midterm election because WarRoom is the major source of the MAGA grassroots movement,” Bannon said in the statement Tuesday night.

“The SDNY did the exact same thing in August 2020 to try to take me out of the election. It didn’t work then, it certainly won’t work now. This is nothing more than a partisan political weaponization of the criminal justice system,” Bannon continued.

“I am proud to be a leading voice on protecting our borders and building a wall to keep our country safe from drugs and violent criminals. The War Room show will be more vital, more intense, more urgent, and bigger this time,” Bannon added.

Just months before the 2020 presidential election, Bannon was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering related to the $25 million “We Build the Wall” fundraiser for the US-Mexico border wall, which ended with former President Donald Trump pardoning him.

“The defendants defrauded hundreds of thousands of donors, capitalizing on their interest in funding a border wall to raise millions of dollars, under the false pretense that all of that money would be spent on construction,” said Audrey Strauss, the U.S. attorney in Manhattan who announced the charges in August 2020.

The War Room has been a central player in helping to promote Trump-backed candidates in numerous state primaries in recent months, which has resulted in major wins for the America First movement ahead of the midterm elections.

Bannon is expected to turn himself into the Manhattan DA’s office on Thursday, according to reports.
