Former US President and Truth Social founder Donald Trump celebrated Elon Musk’s official acquisition of Twitter Friday, praising the Tesla CEO for taking the social media platform back from “Radical Left Lunatics.”
In a message posted to Truth, Trump said he was “very happy” the platform he once reigned supreme on is “now in sane hands.”
“TRUTH SOCIAL has become somewhat of a phenomena. Last week it had bigger numbers than all other platforms, including TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, and the rest. It also looks and works better to my eye,” Trump commented.
He added, “I am very happy that Twitter is now in sane hands, and will no longer be run by Radical Left Lunatics and Maniacs that truly hate our country. Twitter must now work hard to rid itself of all of the bots and fake accounts that have hurt it so badly. It will be much smaller, but better. I LOVE TRUTH!”
The message is not so different from a fake Trump statement that was spread on social media the previous day, in which the former president claimed he was notified his account would be “back up and running on Monday.”

“Happy to be able to engage with an African-American owned business!” the viral fabricated message also stated.
As of writing, it has been reported but not yet formally confirmed that Musk plans to reverse lifetime bans, restoring the accounts of prominent controversial figures including Trump, Alex Jones and others.
As for Trump making a return to Twitter, that remains to be seen.
Back in April when first asked about Musk’s potential Twitter purchase, Trump indicated he would not be returning to the platform.
“No, I won’t be going back on Twitter,” Trump told CNBC.
“I will be on Truth Social within the week. Its on schedule. We have a lot of people signed up. I like Elon Musk. I like him a lot. He’s an excellent individual. We did a lot for Twitter when I was in the White House. I was disappointed by the way I was treated by Twitter. I won’t be going back on Twitter.”
Time will tell whether the former president has since changed his mind.
