A clip from a recent airing of “Dr. Phil” is going viral online after a 5th-grade teacher in the crowd verbally slammed a pro-trans kids activist who claimed trans men can menstruate.
The episode, which aired in April, focused on gender “inclusivity” in schools and allowed audience members to participate at times.
In the viral segment, a 5th-grade teacher in the crowd named Ray told a guest, “Men do not menstruate. Only women menstruate,” during a discussion on placing tampons in boys’ restrooms at schools.
After Ray made the basic statement, a transgender activist named Jordan cut him off, saying, “Cis-men don’t menstruate, but trans men do menstruate, same as non-binary people. Menstruating is not exclusive to women.”
Arguing that menstruating IS exclusive to women, Ray explained, “If your chromosomes are XX and you’re young, you menstruate. If you’re XY, you don’t.”
When Jordan asked, “What about trans men?” the teacher said, “They’re not men, they’re women dressed as men. You are not a man. You can pretend to be a man, and that’s ok. That’s perfectly fine. Live your life.”
Later, Ray asked Jordan to answer the question, “What is a man?” but the transgender activist flipped it around on him and asked the teacher for his definition.
“You have chromosomes that are X and Y. That’s what a man is,” Ray bluntly stated.
In a laughable response, Jordan asked, “So, why are we just looking at the science of this?”
Next, other guests alleged gender and sex are different but Ray told them he doesn’t accept that distinction and said, “You’re just making it up.”
“The people who hate the truth are because they see the truth as hateful,” he continued. “If you want to identify in any way you can, you’re free to do so. But that does not mean that the rest of us have to join that illusion.”
Another audience member told Ray he was being hateful because he told a trans man they’re not an actual man and he responded, “That’s not hateful, that’s a fact.”
The brief spat is going viral amid the current debate surrounding the direction of the LGBT movement with Pride Month just kicking off.
