60 Minutes on Sunday covered the Donald Trump administration’s shuttering of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), asking if he’s “defying the Constitution?”
Kristina Drye and Adam Dubard were falsely portrayed as employees of the agency when they were actually communications consultants who never worked directly for USAID.
“People are really scared,” Drye said of the Trump admin closing the agency. “Twelve days ago, people knew where their next paycheck was coming from. They knew how they were going to pay for their kids’ daycare, their medical bills. And then, all gone overnight.”
The outlet said Drye and Dubard were “fired last month in the chaotic shutdown of” the agency, but failed to reveal they were let go by their employers who were USAID employees.
Dubard claimed the Trump team is only looking for loyalty and is punishing those who don’t go along with the MAGA agenda.

60 Minutes claimed Kristina Drye “was fired this month in the chaotic shutdown of USAID.”
What they didn’t tell you? Kristina wasn’t a USAID employee – she worked for XLA and Jefferson Partners, providing speechwriting services for USAID… pic.twitter.com/bzxawR4Rxm
TexasLindsay on 𝕏 dug up a video of Drye previously admitting people inside the USAID building “took down pride flags” and “incriminating books” when DOGE employees entered the facility.
60 Minutes aired an interview of 2 USAID Contractors last night—one was Kristina Drye—the same woman ABC interviewed who confessed to taking “incriminating books” with her after @DOGE entered the USAID building.

Strangely, Kristina Drye has deleted her X account. pic.twitter.com/rMBantPFMb
Freelance writer Eli Steinberg noted Drye and Dubard “were never actual employees of USAID.”
The Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) took control of the USAID audit, causing government insiders to freak out over the Trump admin gaining access to the agency’s information.

Former George W. Bush White House USAID Administrator Andrew Natsios told 60 Minutes‘ Scott Pelley President Trump is spewing “utter nonsense” about billions of U.S. tax dollars being stolen through the agency.
Natsios falsely claimed the only fiscal abuse found by the DOGE team was from 20 years ago.
Instead of taking responsibility for the waste of the agency where he once worked, Natsios blamed Congress for approving USAID contracts and programs in the first place.

Elsewhere during the interview, 60 Minutes falsely claimed President Trump cannot shut down the agency by executive order (EO).
However, as 𝕏 user Paul A. Szypula accurately pointed out, USAID can be terminated by a presidential EO as it was created in 1961 by a President John F. Kennedy executive order.
The political establishment is writhing as the Trump administration exposes and strips away its tools of tyranny one step at a time.
