ABC’s Jon Karl was forced to admit President Donald Trump may have been right all along about COVID-19’s origins.
Speaking Sunday on “This Week”, Karl confessed that Trump may have been correct in claiming that the coronavirus was created at and escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in 2019.
“I think a lot of people have egg on their face,” Karl said without a hint of irony. “This was an idea that was first put forward by Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State, Donald Trump. And look, some things may be true even if Donald Trump said them.”
Karl then insisted the media dismissed Trump because he was already making “out of control” and “racist” statements about COVID.
“Because Trump was saying so much else that was just out of control, because he was making a, frankly, racist appeal talking about ‘kung flu’ and the ‘China virus’, his notion that put forward that this may have — or no, he said flatly that this came from that lab, was widely dismissed,” Karl said.
Despite new evidence suggesting the virus is manmade and that Wuhan virologists fell ill just before the pandemic began in early 2020, Karl tried claiming that we still “absolutely don’t know” whether COVID-19 came from the Wuhan lab or not.
“But actually, there’s some real reason — we don’t know, by the way, we still don’t know. We absolutely don’t know — but now serious people are saying it needs a serious inquiry,” Karl said, referring to the same “serious people” that had been dismissing Trump’s claim over the last year.
Evidence pointing to COVID-19 as a manmade bioweapon that escaped the Wuhan lab has become so widely known that even Joe Biden was forced to launch an intelligence review into the matter just to save face.
Will Donald Trump ever receive an apology from these media hacks? Don’t bet on it.
