An Iraqi migrant has been arrested for stabbing an Afghan male to death in Germany this week, according to reports.
The incident unfolded at around 10 a.m. on Monday morning in Sarstedt, a town in the Hildesheim district of Lower Saxony.
Authorities responded to the scene of an altercation near the central transit station where they found a man suffering from severe stab wounds.
The victim could not be saved and succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
Special forces arrested the suspect at around 9:15 p.m. on Monday night on the premises of a business in Sarstedt.
The suspect was later identified as a 34-year-old Iraqi national who arrived to Germany approximately two years ago as an ‘asylum seeker.’
The victim, a 61-year-old Afghan who had been living in Germany for decades, operated a hotel housing ‘asylum seekers’ where the suspect was staying at the time of the attack.
Authorities believe the two men had become embroiled in a dispute that led to the fatal stabbing outside the hotel, BILD reports.

Germany has been wracked by a slew of recent stabbings and knife attacks perpetrated by migrants, prompting some officials to push for the declaration of a national emergency.
🇬🇧| Germany wants to declare a "national emergency" due to knife attacks by #Migrants, while barely deporting criminals and allowing anyone who claims asylum to cross the border. It couldn't be more absurd! #EU https://t.co/EwA2n4v2P0
