An illegal alien from Africa who is wanted for murder in Brazil was apprehended in Pennsylvania this week after he was released into the U.S. by Border Patrol, authorities say.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the recent arrest of 34-year-old Gora Tourie Fall in Philadelphia.
Fall is a citizen of Senegal who illegally crossed the southern border near Eagle Pass, Texas, in April of 2021.
He was caught by Border Patrol at the time, issued a notice to appear before a federal immigration judge in the future, and then freed into the interior.
In May, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Philadelphia became aware that Fall is a fugitive from justice in Brazil, where there is an active warrant for his arrest on murder charges.
However, the African remained on the loose for seven more months before he was finally tracked down on Dec. 10.
Fall is currently being held in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

“ERO Philadelphia is devoted to ensuring that foreign fugitives such as Fall will find no refuge in the United States,” said Acting ERO Philadelphia Field Office Director Brian McShane.
“The safety of the American public is our number one priority and as such, we will arrest any noncitizen who poses a threat to our security.”
Authorities continue to catch dangerous foreign criminals illegally present in the U.S., many of whom have been previously released into the country by law enforcement agencies.
